Lei Kukui Half Shell by Kumu Kaponoʻai Molitau

Lei Kukui
Handmade by Kumu Kaponoʻai Molitau
All the Kukui (Aleurites moluccanus) half shells have been gathered by Kumu Kaponoʻai and his ʻohana on the island of Maui in the uplands of ʻĪao to the shores of Honokahua.  Each shell is washed and carefully put together to create a lei that will last for generations to come.  The lei measures 35" in length and is quite heavy due to the nature of the Kukui nut shell.  Enjoy this Lei Kukui and all of its symbolic meanings that Kukui offers from enlightenment, health, wisdom, protection, and peace.  May the physical manifestations of the Akua Lono continue to be embraced by all that adorn themselves with the Lei Kukui.
